Anime Relations: Black Clover, Black Clover 2nd Season
πŸ”₯ WHY YOUR ANIME LIST IS LYING TO YOU πŸ”₯
(And Why Affinity Ratings Are Completely Broken)

β—ˆ ━━━━━ ✦ ━━━━━ β—ˆ

If you’ve spent more than five minutes on MyAnimeList, you’ve probably fallen into the rabbit hole: stalking someone's profile, staring at that percentage next to their name, and immediately judging whether they have "god-tier taste" or complete brain rot. ( ̄▽ ̄)/

We all do it. You see a 40% affinity, scroll down their favorites, notice they rated Black Clover a 9/10, and suddenly you feel like you just found your long-lost twin in the comments section. But let’s be real for a second—how much does that number actually mean? β•°(*´β οΈΆβ `*)β•―

β—ˆ ━━━━━ ✦ ━━━━━ β—ˆ

1. THE "10/10 MASTERPIECE" TRAP

Here is how the average MAL scoring system actually works in practice:

β˜… 10/10: "This show fundamentally changed my life, or Captain Yami yelled 'surpass your limits' and I threw my headset across the room out of hype."

β˜… 7/10: "It was alright. I binged it in two days, but I will forget every character's name by next Tuesday."

β˜… 1/10: "The ending made me so mad I took it personally." ( •̀_•́ )✧

Because almost nobody actually uses the 1 through 5 rating scale correctly, the site's affinity algorithm gets completely warped. You could share five absolute core favorites with someone, but because they rated three seasonal trash shows two points higher than you did, MAL tells you that your taste compatibility is sitting at a tragic 12%.

Don't let the stats fool you. The real connections happen in the comment section over shared hype, not the math!
