October was supposed to be E month, but it turned out I only had three Es on my list, and one was a movie and one turned out to be unwatchable, so it turned into E & F month. October is usually busy but I surprisingly had a lot of time this month - a fairly long train journey up North (with a ton of delays both ways), and then two weeks of flu. Normally I read a lot in October - I have a lot of Halloween books I really enjoy - but this year, most of the month was anime.
Watched in October 2026:
- Eureka Seven
- Even Though I’m A Super Timid Noble Girl, I Accepted the Bet From My Cunning Fiancé (started; still broadcasting)
- Expelled From Paradise
- Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Season 2)
- Firefly Wedding (started; still broadcasting)
- Fate/Zero (Season 1 & 2)
- From Up On Poppy Hill
- Fantastic Children
- Fireworks
- From the New World
- Hellsing Ultimate (because even though it’s not H month, H month will be December and this is a Halloween watch, not a Christmas watch. Last October and the October before I was demoned out after too much Black Butler, but I said I’d try it again this year.)
Rewatched:
- Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Season 1)
Attempted and dropped:
- Eromanga Sensei (Sexualising grade school kids is gross. If it were high school I wouldn’t care much, but grade school is age 12, max. Ewww.)
Didn’t try:
- Fairy Tail (175 episodes, man)
- Fate/Stay Night (Fate/Zero was good, but so dark and heavy, I need a break)
- Future GPX Cyber Formula (I just didn’t get to it)
- The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me A Princess? (I forgot to look in the Ts - have I ever said how annoying it is that MAL files titles starting with “The” under T? - and only remembered today, Oct 31. I apparently also missed something in the Ds last month because of this. Also, I am not sure I can deal with a MC named Athanasia. Generally I am OK with names that translate strangely - as a kid growing up in Spain, I remember giggling at Laputa: Castle in the Sky - but some names would really benefit from a change. I dropped a manhwa a while back because the heroine’s name was Arsel, and I just couldn’t. I guess Athanasia isn’t as bad as Arsel.)
